Kundalini Rising ~

From Infinity to Divinity

A dynamic, primarily movement-based form of yoga, Kundalini Rising classes are centered around themes for maintaining and improving health, developing awareness and intuition, balancing the electromagnetic field and the chakras, and for putting plans into action and manifesting goals. The practice consists of Kriyas - sets of highly specialized exercises  - that target physiological systems and processes including boosting the immune system, renewing the nervous system, balancing the glandular system, strengthening the cardiovascular system, stimulating the digestive system, moving the lymphatic system and increasing vagal tone.  Other kriyas work on removing negativity and depression, strengthening the aura, and for drawing prosperity, abundance and opportunities.  

 

Movement, mudra, pranayama, mantra and meditation are the tools of this 6,000-year old technology.  Focusing on particular energetic aspects to bring the physical and subtle bodies into alignment, Kundalini Rising is characterized by rapid, repetitive movements often coordinated with specific forms of breathing and positions or seals of the hands or body. Periods of rest and rejuvenation are integrated. Accommodates all levels but be prepared to work!

Chakra Charge ~ 

Flowing into Spirit

The foundation of this practice is the Primary Chakra System recognized across most traditional lineages of yoga. The individual qualities and characteristics of the Chakras are studied and the class progressively develops integration and reciprocity between these centers of energy. Understanding the location and function of the Chakras is achieved through a vigorous asana practice preceded by breathwork technologies and warmup. Balancing and unblocking these centers of life force shifts psycho-physiological function as targeted asanas and sequences of movement are practiced to effect the Chakras. 

 

The class concludes with chanting the Chakra Seed Sounds (Mantras/Sound Vibration) and visualizing their respective Yantras (symbolic pictoral representations) to magnify the stimulation and rebalancing of these fields of energy.  With roots in Tantra and Samkhya, the Chakra System is a potent facilitator affecting consciousness and our journey into spiritual realization.

Prana Power

Prana Power/Therapeutic Breathwork Sessions focus on various mental health issues. These wellness classes are formatted in 6-week modules centered around very specific breathwork practices to help improve quality of life and increase happiness as they address the topics of each of the 5 modules. Each of the 6-week modules will begin with introductory classes that cover fundamentals including sitting and postural alignment, basic breath mechanics, embodiment awareness, places to focus the mind and eyes, techniques for lengthening and deepening the breath, and breathing in strokes. Elementary explanations regarding the science behind how breathwork effects both the parasympathetic and sympathetic sides of the nervous system and brain balance, and effects on the glandular system are provided to demonstrate that Prana Power is rooted not only in it’s ancient past, but also in modern western science.

Private sessions are 75 min and are tailored to fit the needs of a wide range of populations including but not limited to: pre-habilitation, post-surgery/ rehabilitation, general discomfort or pain, neurodegenerative diseases, weight loss, flexibility/strength/agility training, meditation and Eastern philosophy. *Choose between our offering of modalities, or a combination of modalities depending on individual needs.

Yinside Out ~ 

‘Ahhhh’ So Good

Yin Yoga is characterized by deep stretching of connective tissue at the joints during long, slow holds of the poses while keeping the muscles relaxed. Sequences that especially target the spine and the hips consist of mostly seated, lying and prone postures. Deep, restorative stretches affect organs and the meridians that nourish them, impacting their physical and  energetic functions.

 

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to an energetic yang yoga practice. Although it is a passive and deeply relaxing practice, the Yin Yoga experience is intensely opening as we create more space in the joints while allowing gravity to do the work. Feel longer and looser. Move Chi into the bones. Experience "Ahhh!”

Conflict Transformation is a powerful and forward-thinking method of Conflict Resolution through movement, and the subject of international workshops and a book (The Choreography of Resolution). 

 

This movement process provides a safe space for both individuals and groups to process issues surrounding personal, interpersonal, and work related conflict; the body becomes the gateway for psychological and emotional healing, individually and collectively. Sessions include fun yet effective improvisational exercises, parasympathetic nervous system activation, writing, drawing, reenacting real-life scenarios through movement, exploring body language, laughing, and finding our commonalities through this simultaneously playful & therapeutic modality.
